History of Shootfighting
In the mid 70s Karl Gotch, a famous German wrestler, taught the art of real wrestling or shooting to a group of top Japanese martial artists. Yoshiaki Fujiwara, a Muay Thai champion and judo expert combined these styles to create Shootfighting. Organizations such as Japanese Pancrase, Shootboxing, and Shooto have been developed from the style of Shutefighting.
